The man killed at 50 Brookway Road in Roslindale last month has been identified as 28-year-old Jason Castillo, police said on July 22.
According to the Boston Police Department, officers responded to a radio call to investigate a situation on Brookway Road at around 10:30 a.m. on July 20. Upon arrival, police said they found Castillo, a Roslindale resident, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Boston EMS pronounced Castillo dead at the scene.
Castillo’s obituary said he left behind his wife, Maria A. Rosa, as well as three children, Mikela, Jhianna and Jadiel. Castillo’s funeral was held on July 27 and he was buried at St. Michael Cemetery in Roslindale.
The Roslindale Transcript quoted Boston Police Department Commissioner William Evans saying, “Clearly, we think this was a targeted assault, and so we’re working on it, but we could use anyone who might know anything to come forward.”
