Cops Respond to 2 Fatal Shootings in Under 48 Hours

**Update (7/2/2014): BPD has identified the victim of this homicide as Corey Ragland, 36, of Mattapan.**

Boston police are investigating the shooting death of a Mattapan man that occurred just one day after a man was gunned down in East Boston.

Just after 2 p.m. on Monday, June 30, Boston police officers responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 73 Edgewater Drive in Hyde Park. When they arrived, cops found a male victim in his 30s suffering what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he eventually died.

At about 2:07 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to an outside scene for a person shot in the area of 73 Edgewater Drive in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers observed a male victim suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, a male in his mid-30s, was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
