Clarence McGregor and Teasia Montgomery dead after double shooting in Mattapan

A man and woman were shot and killed early Monday morning on Rosewood Street in Mattapan, police said.

Police identified the victims on Thursday as 25-year-old Clarence McGregor, of Dorchester, and 28-year-old Teasia Montgomery, of Medford.

Authorities responded to the shooting at 2:44 a.m., according to police. McGregor was taken to Boston Medical Center and Montgomery to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. They were both pronounced dead at the hospitals.

Hours before McGregor and Montgomery were shot, a 22-year-old was killed in Dorchester, the first of four homicides in less than four days in Boston.

Death Investigation: Boston Police Investigating a Double Shooting in the area of 92 Rosewood Street in Mattapan

At about 2:44am, on Monday, January 27, 2014, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to an outside scene for shots fired in the area of 92 Rosewood Street. On arrival, officers located two victims (a male and a female) both suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds and life threatening injuries. The male victim, believed to be his twenties, was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. The female victim, believed to be her twenties, was transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives assigned to the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
