Suspect Arraigned in Wednesday’s Dudley Street Shooting

Peter Carvalho, 25, of Dorchester was arraigned for murder Thursday afternoon at the Roxbury Municipal Court in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Shannon Richardson Jr.

According to police reports, Richardson was walking in the area Humphreys Street and Dudley Street when he noticed a man fitting Carvalho’s description following him. Richardson ran and Carvalho allegedly fired several rounds, striking Richardson in the back.

On Thursday, the bail hearing of Olivia Mora is scheduled to be heard at 9 a.m. Mora, 36, is charged with vehicular manslaughter in the November 26 killing of 7-year-old Brianna Rosales.

John Graham Sentenced to Prison Term in Non-Fatal Shooting

In the moments before he assaulted, attempted to rob, and shot at two young men, aged 18 and 20, on Monsignor Lydon Way, John Graham, 19, laughed.

It was that laughter that Judge Linda Giles thought of Wednesday as she sentenced Graham to five to six years in prison for the crime, saying how strongly she recalled the witness who described it.

What really struck me at trial,” Giles said, “was testimony from witnesses describing Mr. Graham’s behavior before and after [the shooting]… he laughed beforehand, and is quoted as saying ‘the guy started laughing and mocking me, so I shot them.’ That behavior disturbs me enormously,” she said.

Shooting Victim Identified as Gilson Semedo

On Thursday, May 8, officers responded to a call for shots fired near Elder Street and Cawfield Street in Dorchester around 11:00 p.m., the Boston Police report.

The victim, found suffering from multiple gun shot wounds and who died at the scene, has been identified as Gilson R. Semedo, 28, of Roxbury.

April Roxbury Shooting Victim Identified as James Mason

A man shot and killed Monday, April 14, has been identified as James Mason, 45, of Roxbury.

According to Boston Police, around 1am on Monday, April 14, Boston Police officers responded to a radio call reporting a person shot near Dabney Street and Regent Street in Roxbury. Upon arrival, officers found Mason suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Oscar Santos-Chaves, 36, has been identified as the victim in the stabbing that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 12, near 282 Border Street in East Boston.

Joel Leon Identified as April 9 South Boston Shooting Victim

Joel Leon, 19, of Milton, has been identified as the man shot April 9th in South Boston.

According to police reports, officers responded to a call for a person shot near West 5th Street and Dorchester Street in South Boston around 7:56 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9. Upon arrival officers found Leon suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Roxbury Shooting Victim Identified as Jose Maldonado

The victim of a March 31 shooting near 17-A Smith Street in Roxbury has been identified as Jose Maldonado, 44.

According to police reports, officers responded to calls of a person shot near 17-A Smith Street around 11:48 a.m. on Monday, March 31. Upon arrival, officers found Maldonado suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mattapan Teen Arraigned as ‘Youthful Offender’ in Younger Brother’s Death

A 14-year-old boy charged with the February 7 shooting death of his younger brother, Janmarcos Pena, 9, in the Peña family’s home on Morton Street was arraigned as a ‘youthful offender’ last week, opening him up to adult sanctions if found guilty in the case.

The teen, identified as Juanly Peña of Dorchester, pleaded innocent to the charges of manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm.
