The Boston Globe on May 23 reported the shooting and on May 25 reported on Moore’s life and the reaction of neighbors in the Academy Homes housing complex where he died.
Moore had a daughter and was actively trying to prevent street violence, the Globe reported:
Moore managed local rap artists, they said, and was part of a collaborative called IBF, which stands for “I’m Boston Foreva,” and he promoted “Roxbury State of Mind,” a grass-roots movement whose members say they try to heal old rifts and smooth over rivalries among young people at different housing projects. They use music and slogans to try to bring people together.
Group members say they try to stop street violence, the kind Moore fell victim to Saturday morning.
