Boston police investigating the murder of 28-year-old Dorchester resident Charles Floyd have asked for the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest.”
The man is wearing a black North Face jacket in images released by BPD. “He is not wanted at this time,” said Officer Rachel McGuire, a Boston Police spokeswoman. “We just need the ID and then we can go from there.”
Floyd was found stabbed on a sidewalk in the area of 8 Shetland Street in Roxbury on the evening of Jan. 26th, 2015, by snowplow operators about to plow the lot. He was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Floyd, a father of two, was a rap artist with a career that was just starting to take off, his family told the Boston Globe. He often worked more than one job in order to support his children.
