Audilia DaVeiga, 33, shot and killed in Dorchester

A woman was fatally shot on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester on the afternoon of Saturday, November 8. Boston police responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 45 Bowdoin Street.

The victim, Audilia DaVeiga, 33, of Boston, was pronounced dead on the scene. The cause and manner of her death have not yet been determined.

Police named DeVeiga’s boyfriend, Paulo Rosa, as a suspect in the case, but he was found dead hours later, according to WBZ NewsRadio.

We were hoping to get to him before he took his own life, but unfortunately this is a sad conclusion,” Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told WBZ NewsRadio.

Update: The suspect, Paulo Rosa, wanted in connection to the Death Investigation in the area of 45 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester has been found deceased.

At about 4:05pm, on Saturday, November 8, 2014, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 45 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an unresponsive female, believed to be in her thirties, suffering from life threatening injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Pending the results of an autopsy, the cause and manner of death will remain under investigation. The victim’s name will be released once the autopsy has been completed and formal identification of the victim has been made by family.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to establish the identity of the suspect wanted in connection to this incident. As such, detectives have released a photo of and are asking for the public’s help in their efforts to locate Paulo Rosa, 30, of Dorchester. Rosa is known to drive a blue G37 Infiniti Coupe with a Mass License Plate that reads: 1LZ-224.

**At about 4:30 AM, Suspect Paulo Rosa was located deceased in a wooded area on the Rehoboth/ Swansea line. Massachusetts State Police Detectives are investigating the circumstances of his death. Boston Police Homicide Detectives would like to thank the various members of the public who offered assistance in this case.
