Behind every victim of homicide is a mother in mourning. More often than not, their child's killer is never found. These mothers wait for years for any kind of answer to the questions "who" and "why."

Through their sorrow, these mothers found a commonality to end the violence that runs through their neighborhoods, and joined Mothers for Justice and Equality. With the support from each other, they're turning grief into action.

Investigation Still Open for Killing of Thaddeus Clark

Police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting that left one man dead and another man in critical condition in Dorchester last March.

Thaddeus Clark, 18, and another unidentified male were shot inside a grey Toyota Corolla on Columbia Road at Hancock Street, according to a police report. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other male victim was treated and transported to Boston Medical Center, the Boston Globe reported. The surviving victim was interviewed by homicide detectives, but at this point no charges have been sought, according to Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley.

Clark's mother Anita, was found fatally stabbed in her Stoughton home two months after the shooting. Anita's ex-husband Willie Foster Jr. is accused of the murder, the Boston Globe reported. There has been no indication so far that Thaddeus' homicide was connected to his mothers', according to Wark.

At about 6:34 PM, Saturday March 9, 2013, officers from district C-11(Dorchester) and district B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Columbia Road between Washington Street and Hancock Street, Dorchester.
Officers were advised the victim was operating a grey Toyota Corolla. On arrival, officers and EMS found the motor vehicle on Columbia Road at Hancock Street. Officers found two male victims in the motor vehicle both suffering apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced deceased on the scene. The other male victim was transported to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.
