Arroyo was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he later died.</p> <p>In a <a href="http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2014/01/27/three-shootings-boston-leave-one-dead-and-two-wounded/ssDEw1BjOIMe6QAhaWVJ9J/story.html" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.bostonglobe.com']);">story</a> on Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Arroyo was the half-brother of a person believed to be a gang member in Roxbury:</p> <blockquote><p>It was not clear if his death was gang-related, but police warned of a possible backlash on the streets, according to internal police documents.</p> <p>“Officers should note the potential for increased emotions among the victim’s family and associates and the potential for retaliation against whomever they perceive to be responsible,” the documents stated.</p></blockquote> <p>This past weekend, four people were killed in Boston in three separate shootings. On arrival, officers observed a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim suffering from life threatening injuries was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Luis Arroyo, 21, of Roxbury.</p> <p>The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
