Evans said the murders of rivals appeared to be based on MS-13’s orders for initiation rites for its members rather than retaliation. Emergency responders transported Perez-De la Cruz to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.</p> <p>A nearby resident who was doing laundry was startled when she heard gunshots.
