Victim of July 11 Dorchester shooting identified as Jean C. Louis

Twenty-year-old Jean C. Louis of Boston has been identified as the victim of a shooting that killed him and left one other person injured. According to the Boston Police Department, Louis and the second victim were found on July 11 at 87 Bailey Street in Dorchester after officers responded to a call for persons shot at 5:57 p.m.

Louis was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second victim was transported to Carney Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to the Boston Globe, police believe the shooting that killed Louis is related to a July 12 shooting on Washington Street in Dorchester. The Globe said police believe the shootings may be gang related.
