July 4th shooting kills one in Roxbury

A Fourth of July shooting left one man dead and another wounded in Roxbury, according to Boston police.

Police found the two men with gunshot wounds near 12 Holburn Street just before 11 p.m. One, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

BPD’s full press release is below:

At about 10:47 PM on Saturday July 4, 2015, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 12 Holburn Street. On arrival, officers discovered two male victims in their twenties suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One victims was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit continues to actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Boston Police Homicide Detectives directly at (617) 343-4470.
