Charles Floyd, 28, Fatally Stabbed In Roxbury

Charles Floyd, 28, was found stabbed in the area of 8 Shetland Street in Roxbury Monday evening, police said.

Floyd was discovered lying in the street at about 8:55 p.m., suffering from apparent stab wounds. Boston EMS transported him to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. He was first identified by Universal Hub.

The incident occurred across the street from the headquarters of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, according to Universal Hub. Floyd’s body was first discovered on the sidewalk by snowplow operators about to plow the lot.

Police confirmed that Floyd’s death is being actively investigated as a homicide, and anyone with information is strongly urged to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.

Though police did not name the victim, his family and a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation identified him.

At about 8:55 PM on Monday, January 26, 2015, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person down in the area of 8 Shetland Street in Roxbury.

Upon arrival in the area, officers observed a male victim lying in the street suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a short time after arrival.
