Woman shot and killed in the South End

A woman was fatally shot at 18 Lattimore Court in the South End early in the morning of Saturday, November 1.

Boston police officers, responding to a radio call for shots fired, discovered a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, believed to be in her late thirties, was transported to Boston Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

BPD’s full statement is below:

At about 5:22 AM, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 601 Shawmut Avenue. While en route to the call, officers were notified that the incident had been reclassified from shots fired to a person shot in the area of 18 Lattimore Court. On arrival, officers located a female victim, believed to be in her thirties, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim, suffering form life threatening injuries, was transported to Boston Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Homicide detectives at (617) 343-4470.
