Shooting Victim Identified as Gilson Semedo

On Thursday, May 8, officers responded to a call for shots fired near Elder Street and Cawfield Street in Dorchester around 11:00 p.m., the Boston Police report.

The victim, found suffering from multiple gun shot wounds and who died at the scene, has been identified as Gilson R. Semedo, 28, of Roxbury.

The murder is currently under investigation; there are no suspects at this time.

At about 11:00 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2014, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Elder Street and Cawfield Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Gilson R. Semedo of Roxbury.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
